Our Beginnings
Our journey began in 2009 with Mark, a young man who dreamed of building a simple, rustic cabin in the woods. He discovered the perfect remote location and began building—funding his dream by crafting picnic tables on weekends. As people noticed his exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail, custom requests for furniture and small structures rolled in. Inspired by this growing demand, Mark launched Forest Trek, a company specializing in small structures, interior furnishings, and outdoor furniture. Over time, the skills and experience gained through Forest Trek laid the groundwork for a new venture: Copperwood Sauna Co.
The Birth of Copperwood

During the COVID-19 pandemic, as people sought ways to enhance wellness and find comfort at home, Mark designed and built his first barrel sauna. It was the perfect blend of his expertise in small structures and his love of woodworking. The response was overwhelmingly positive, and what started as a personal project quickly grew into something more. With increasing demand for custom saunas, Copperwood Sauna Co. was born.
Sustainability and Quality
Sustainability is at the core of what we do at Copperwood Sauna Co. We source our materials responsibly, ensuring that they are eco-friendly and built to last. From the moment we select our wood to the final installation, we are committed to minimizing our environmental impact while maximizing your comfort.
We waste as little of our materials as possible and repurpose cut offs from longer cedar pieces to create smaller pieces of the sauna. Every piece of wood has its own beauty and character.
